Pacific Continental Realty, LLC (PCR) was formed in 1972 in Orange County, CA, and its headquarters moved to Washington in 1990 as the first commercial brokerage in Whatcom County. The company remains privately owned and has continued to grow due to its successful endeavors on behalf of its clients. The professionals at PCR will work for your interests as if they were our own.

  • Jim Bjerke

    Jim Bjerke (Designated Broker)

    Jim purchased PCR in August, 2000, after working with PCR for eight years as a leasing and sales agent. He has been active in the commercial real estate market in Whatcom County for the past 28 years, including 11 years with the Morris Piha Management Group. Jim left his Vice President position with Piha to join PCR to work in acquisitions, sales, leasing, and management of office, retail, and industrial properties. His knowledge of the industry, contacts in the community, and ability to negotiate prove valuable assets to PCR and its clients. Outside of the workplace, Jim is a past Chairman of the Bellingham Parking Commission, past president of the Allied Arts of Whatcom County, and served on numerous civic committees over the past three decades.

  • Tracy Carpenter (Managing Broker)

    Tracy joined the PCR to be a commercial leasing broker. She conveys a confidence garnered from her life experience and 13 years in business management and ownership. Before PCR, Tracy dedicated five years of focus and training to create her business as a Personal and Business Development Coach. She brings all those skills to the table for PCR. She has an affinity for people that is demonstrated in everything she does. Her attuned listening skills and ability to help formulate plans with a focus towards action is an advantage to our clients.

  • Jody Biermann (Broker)

    Jody joined the PCR team in 2011. She brings 10 years of self employment experience in interior design, working closely with commercial developers and architects, through design phase to the completed project. Jody holds a BA in Interior Design and has chosen to broaden her career to include real estate commercial sales and leasing. Jody’s committed to focusing on the client’s expectations and timeline; to work with the team to ensure a positive and productive experience.

  • Dick Zagelow

    Dick Zagelow (Business Broker)

    Dick’s background includes owning and working on a wheat farm. He owned and managed Franz Gabl’s Ski Shop in Bellingham for 17 years, and has extensive experience working in banking and finance, where he continues to work with a select group of clients. His business and finance background provide PCR clients with years of experience as they work the sale or purchase of business entities. Dick grew up in Odessa, WA where many of his family still reside. He received his AA Degree from Yakima Valley College, his BA from Central Washington State University, and his post graduate work at Western Washington State University. Dick and his wife Thirza have lived in Bellingham for over 35 years, and have three children, and two grandchildren.

  • David Johnston

    David Johnston (Broker)

    David joined PCR in the winter of 2000 to specialize in commercial sales in downtown Bellingham. After earning his B.A. from Evergreen State College, he began his real estate career as a manager for Daylight Properties (managing 250,000 square feet of downtown property). He has attained 100% occupancy in managed properties under his control and is currently part owner in two of those properties.

    Michael August

    Michael joined PCR in October of 2005 to provide general maintenance to our managed properties. He has over 20 years experience in the construction and maintenance fields. Michael works closely with the owners, brokers, and tenants to keep our properties operating to the companies quality standards.

    Cherri Robertson (Property Manager)

    Cherri joined PCR Jan 2005 providing accounting management and property management support for the Property Management division. 2008 she received her brokers' license and is focused on applying her experience to property management and special projects. Cherri is our problem solver and an integral part of the PCR team. Prior to re-locating to Washington, Cherri had 17 years experience in accounting and managing in the construction industry.

  • Lesley Newman (Property Manager)

    Lesley joined PCR as a Property Services Broker. She co-owned, for over fifteen years, a large, local property management investment firm in Bellingham. Lesley brings with her the knowledge of the market, the personality and professionalism to manage investment property in a manner that results in long term relationships with clients, and the business experience and know-how to provide the return on investment that owners expect.

  • Nancy Bjerke

    Nancy Bjerke (Managing Broker)

    Nancy has worked in commercial real estate for 12 years. She currently is Managing Broker, heading up our property management division. Beyond real estate she has many years experience as a preschool teacher, parent educator, and retail shop owner. She brings to PCR skills in property management, retail experience, and human services which combined together contributes to good listening skills, problem solving, accuracy and dedication to the PCR team. Nancy enjoys working with the quality team of professionals at the office, as well as the property owners to meet the goals of real estate investment and management.

    Yuki joined PCR in December of 2009 and supports, maintains, and configures PCR's property management software. Before joining PCR, she worked for the past seven years in related fields both in the United States and Japan.

  • Diane Ford (Office Manager)

    Diane has worked for Crown Plaza Executive Suites for over 10 years prior to PCR taking over direct management of the floor. Diane is a vital part of the success of the Executive Suites as she handles incoming calls for all the tenants on the floor, greets and announces their clients, distributes incoming and outgoing mail and performs numerous other clerical and administrative duties.
