ABOUT THE PACIFIC CONTINENTAL REALTY PROFESSIONAL STAFF

Pacific Continental Realty (PCR) was formed in 1972 in Orange County, CA, and its headquarters moved to Washington in 1990 as the first commercial brokerage in Whatcom County. The company remains privately owned and has continued to grow due to its successful endeavors on behalf of its clients. The professionals at PCR will work for your interests as if they were our own.

Sales and Leasing

Jim Bjerke (Broker) purchased PCR in August, 2000, after working with PCR for eight years as a leasing and sales agent. He has been active in the commercial real estate market in Whatcom County for the past 25 years, including 11 years with the Morris Piha Management Group. Jim left his Vice President position with Piha to join PCR to work in acquisitions, sales, leasing, and management of office, retail, and industrial properties. His knowledge of the industry, contacts in the community, and ability to negotiate prove valuable assets to PCR and its clients. Outside of the workplace, Jim is a past Chairman of the Bellingham Parking Commission, past president of the Allied Arts of Whatcom County, and served on numerous civic committees over the past two decades.

Doug Meyer (Associate Broker) joined PCR in 2001 to enhance the company’s marketing efforts. Doug earned his Bachelors degree from UCLA, has since completed an MBA, and is a licensed real estate agent in Washington. With his background in management and marketing, he has developed communication skills that prove valuable in the marketing of Pacific Continental Realty services. He now focuses on the leasing and sales of commercial property. Doug has owned and managed rental property for over 20 years.

Tracy Carpenter (Agent) joined the Pacific Continental Realty team to be a commercial leasing agent. She conveys a confidence garnered from her life experience and 13 years in business management and ownership. Before PCR, Tracy dedicated five years of focus and training to create her business as a Personal and Business Development Coach. She brings all those skills to the table for PCR. She has an affinity for people that is demonstrated in everything she does. Her attuned listening skills and ability to help formulate plans with a focus towards action is an advantage to our clients.

Dick Zagelow (Business Brokerage Agent) Dick’s background includes owning and working on a wheat farm. He owned and managed Franz Gabl’s Ski Shop in Bellingham for 17 years, and has extensive experience working in banking and finance, where he continues to work with a select group of clients. His business and finance background provide PCR clients with years of experience as they work the sale or purchase of business entities. Dick grew up in Odessa, WA where many of his family still reside. He received his AA Degree from Yakima Valley College, his BA from Central Washington State University, and his post graduate work at Western Washington State University. Dick and his wife Thirza have lived in Bellingham for over 35 years, and have three children, and two grandchildren.

David Johnston (Agent) joined PCR in the winter of 2000 to specialize in commercial sales in downtown Bellingham. After earning his B.A. from Evergreen State College, he began his real estate career as a manager for Daylight Properties (managing 250,000 square feet of downtown property). He has attained 100% occupancy in managed properties under his control and is currently part owner in two of those properties.

David Zagelow (Marketing Manager) graduated from Central Washington University receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2002.  After a year working in Boston with a Flute manufacturing company David returned to Bellingham to open Evergreen Music Studios. He is a licensed real estate agent in Washington bringing his advertising and marketing skills to the clients of Pacific Continental Realty.  David is a second generation Bellingham resident and he and his wife have one child.   David has a unique understanding of the area and of business operations providing his clients with a professional and knowledgeable foundation for presenting their properties.

Lisa Weeks (Broker’s Assistant) joined the Pacific Continental Realty, LLC team to provide administrative assistance to Jim Bjerke. She has extensive experience in executive, and administrative assistance. She is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Washington, and her background includes working in both the real estate, and title insurance fields. In her role as Jim’s assistant, she brings a wealth of experience, and expertise. Lisa is why, “Jim gets things done”.

Property Management

Tom Day Joined Pacific Continental Realty in June 2006. Tom has more than 25 years of administrative and managerial experience including seven years as a bank Assistant Operations Officer and over seven years of experience in property management. His efficiency and "get it done " attitude compliments the Company. Tom earned his BS degree from Northeast Missouri State University and has lived in Bellingham since 1991.

Michael August joined Pacific Continental Realty, LLC in October of 2005 providing general maintenance to our managed properties. He has over 16 years experience in the construction and maintenance fields. Michael works closely with the owners, agents and tenants to keep our properties operating to the companies quality standards.

Bookkeeping and Accounting

Mary Benson joined the Pacific Continental Realty, LLC team in 2008 to provide administrative assistance and general office support. Mary is a Northwest native with over sixteen years experience in the telecommunications field and an associates degree and certificate in transportation. She brings a unique background and professionalism to the PCR office by helping our clients and visitors meet their real estate needs more efficiently.

Cherri Robertson provides accounting and property management support for the Commercial Property Management division. Working closely with Tom, Cherri is an integral part of the property management team. Prior to re-locating to Washington, Cherri had 17 years experience in accounting and managing in the construction industry.
