Ken has been dreaming, designing, and building since before he could walk. After moving up from pillow forts and treehouses, Ken worked in construction throughout his college years. Ken graduated from Tulane University in 1992 and subsequently spent 5 years on Wall Stret as an equities trader. Called back to his childhood passions, Ken completed a second degree in Civil Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Upon graduation, he was recruited to Bellingham in 2001 as an engineering design and development consultant. After a few years, his interests in buildings, real estate, and urban development drew him into the political arena and a position on the Whatcom County Council, where he served two terms. Ken’s next stop was with sterling Project Development, a New York City based real estate development management and advisory firm. He had the great fortune to work on large projects from Miami to Seattle to New York.
Throughout these adventures, Ken and his wife, Amy, invested in real estate in New York City, Bellingham, and Vermont. Once relocated to Bellingham, they focused their real estate development and property management operations locally. Their holdings include farmland, multi-family residential, commercial, industrial, and vacation properties. While they still own properties on the East Coast, the majority of their holdings are in Bellingham. Their most notable local project has been the renovation of the Hinsdale Hardware Building and the Northwest Grocery Company building on Commercial Street.  The current tenants are the popular Brandywine Kitchen and Uisce Irish Pub.Â
Ken’s diverse background in design, construction, politics, and finance provides an excellent framework to evaluate potential real estate projects. He loves the process of analyzing and underwriting deals or managing a development project. At PCR, Ken’s mission is to engage clients to achieve their goals; his focus is on matching investors with strategic properties throughout the region.
