The City of Blaine, Washington is located 35 miles south of Vancouver, British Columbia, and 110 miles north of Seattle. Blaine’s expeditious growth can likely be attributed to the development of Semiahmoo Resort, decreased barriers in trade, and the influence of Canadian growth and migration. Presently Blaine’s population is sitting at approximately 5,960, with growth trends not likely to halt anytime soon. In fact, the Blaine urban growth area is projected to be the most rapidly growing within Whatcom County over the 20-year planning period, with a more than 85% increase in population by 2036.
